Housing Sign-up & Room Assignment Processes

The room assignment process for incoming first year students takes place during the summer prior to the start of the fall semester.  All new students complete a Housing Intent Form from which preferences and considerations for roommate requests and placement will be made.

 

The housing sign-up process for returning students takes place in the second half of March for the following academic year. Returning students will be alerted when the Housing Intent Form (HIF) is live and ready for submissions. All current undergraduate students must submit a Housing Intent Form.

 

When completing their HIF, new and returning residential students have the ability to request specific roommates; returning residential students may also request a specific room number within their respective hall. Please note that current first-year students will be placed in Clare Hall for their second year on campus. Upperclassmen will be assigned to apartments in Padua Hall.

 

Residential Life & Housing will place students in the appropriate buildings by prioritizing roommate requests, followed by room number requests. Roommate requests must be mutual. We do our best to place students from their preferences but cannot guarantee all requests will be fulfilled. If you have questions about the process, please email reslife@sf.edu.

 

Official room assignments will be posted on MCC mid-July, before the start of the Fall semester.
